The historic township of Canowindra in the central west of New South Wales is gearing up for the 18th National Balloon Championships from 20 – 27 April.

The iconic competition is set to attract record crowds for the towns biggest week of the year, with more than 6000 people attending last years event.

Jan Kerr, Head of Event Entertainment, said the Balloon Glow is the highlight of the week, with a twilight wine and food market from 4.30 pm onwards.

“Lights are out at 7pm and then the balloons all light up set to music – it’s a spectacular site” said Ms Kerr.
