The first CityTalks forum for 2013, Sydney Town Hall

City of Sydney hosted its first CityTalks forum 2013 at Sydney Town Hall last night with keynote address from Sir Tim Berners-Lee, creator of the World Wide Web.

A panel of digital leaders from Google and the University of Technology joined Sir Tim to discuss the effect of the Web throughout community, business, government and education.

The events free tickets were scooped up in just under two hours, a record for the CityTalks public forum.

“Just as the press functions as the fourth estate, the internet should not have anyone in particular controlling it” said Sir Tim, addressing important concerns with privacy, data collection and government control.
